Amazing

Really fun to play one of my all time favourite games again, cant even find an actual cartridge! Still fun even if you didnt play it on the SNES. The d pad control REALLY needs a revamp though, then it would be perfect.

Controls need work

Pretty much everything bad about the port are the controls. The virtual joystick goes all over the place but its manageable.

Awesome game but the Controls were ruined..

This game was great to play before the update and now I dont know if there is any way to revert back.. I guess I will have to deal with it.

Memories! Thanks for the update!

The new update rectified my problem below. Im glad I can continue playing this game on my iPhone 5. Thank you, Square Enix! --------------------------------------------- After upgrading to an iPhone 5, this game is no longer playable. The screen is unable to recognize any commands I touch. I am just stuck at the main title screen. Please fix this so I can finish the game, or issue a full refund. Tech support at Square Enix was not helpful and was not aware of this problem. --------------------------------------------- Great port to the iPhone. This was the first RPG I had real interest in and I still have the original SNES game in the box! (I just dont have my SNES anymore). On the iPhone 4, I do not experience the troubled joystick like others are describing. The joystick takes a bit of getting used to at first, but there is no lack of a "dead spot," at least for me. Dont let this stop you from grabbing a great game--well worth the price!

CLOUD SUPPORT MISSING!!!

This is one of the best in the Square-Enix classic catalogue, and although I have enjoyed replaying the game thus-far on my iPhone, sadly missed is the cross-device save game support that IOS users have come to expect in the last year with games (such as Pocket Planes) that allow a simple, yet play-time counter saving option to switch back and forth between devices... The port is perfect, after almost 30 hours of bliss --- but I must say --- would EASILY rate this app 4 out of 5 if it supported the aforementioned CLOUD SAVING, and would be 5 out of 5 if you gave the AGING, CAREER MINDED, AND VERY BUSY DEMOGRAPHIC of fans of this classic exactly what they wanted... a VERSION UPDATE for both IPAD USERS AND IPHONE USERS that didnt require an X2 resize button... AND the inability to enjoy the game in a TIME MINDFUL convenient fashion, ACROSS BOTH DEVICES!! Without hesitation, heck, Id even pay another $10 for said cross compatible iPad version --- if your company pulled this off and managed to allow the import of MY PRECIOUS 30 HOUR SAVE GAME FROM IPHONE TO IPAD VIA THE CLOUD! Keep up the good work, but please - this is my favourite title in the Square library... Dont substitute the usual Square-Enix perfection that weve all come to expect with technological ignorance and mediocrity -- especially when you are charging what you charge, which is more than fair if the game was augmented as Ive suggested above. Thanks.

Wooooo!

This game is so much fun! I dont know why others are having problems with controls. Maybe they are not hardcore gamers. This game requires you to move fast and strike quick. Controls are sweet. Once you get into a groove it just comes naturally. Awesome game

Reliving my childhood

Finally bought this for my iPhone. At the sale price, it was too good to pass up. This was one of my favorite games as a kid, and it plays pretty much exactly the same. I love being able to switch from English to Japanese and back again, seeing everything as it was originally written, but also being able to see how faithful the translation really is. The only thing missing is the co-op multiplayer that made this game so great to play with friends! Two hours in and loving it,

If youre looking to test your patience...

This game should be priced way higher than it is, because it needs to come bundled with a complementary session in anger management. The controls are simply hateful, and will very nearly ruin this timeless classic for you. "Whats that? You wanted to swing your sword? Nah, I think Ill just stand here and get beat up instead." Its also a little buggy (prepare yourself to have the ring menu frequently popping up randomly without your asking). If nothing else, if you found the original to be on the easy side, youll be more challenged by this port. Unfortunately, you might not find the nature of the challenge to be very enjoyable.

Autosave win!

Works great. Had no issue with controls. Enjoyed it a bit more in stretched mode on iPad, the pixels add to authenticity. Thanks to Autosave at every screen warp you can turn off your device whenever you want to and continue this epic classic at your own pace.

Great game

Controls are great for IOS, and game itself is a classic from Nintendo , sir newton fig must either have large oversized fingers or is mentally handicapped.

Lies

Says in the description that its compatible with ipad. This means that its an iPhone app that will zoom to stretch and almost fill the screen... Almost... Would not have bought if I knew this. Deleted.

Nice

Nice now all they need is Secret of Evermore and Bluetooth or wifi multi player

Sweet an fun

I was happy to play an old game that i like but where the co-op? Still a really fun game unless u have big fingers lol.

Great game!

This game is awesome. I have loved the Mana series games, and it has been ported wonderfully to iOS. I can only hope Square Enix will port more of this series, as the controls are smooth, the gameplay is great, and the auto save feature sends it head and shoulders over other games. Keep them coming!

My favourite game

So happy to see this on the App Store! Keep bringing on the classics!

Nice

Controls are way better after update. Looks great!

Secret of mana

Great until the sound crapped out now I have to start all over again. Sweet.

Great port, but controls need update...

The updated graphics are great and still keep the original style for the nostalgic purposes. The touch controls are limited as to how they work. How I would have liked it done is like this: Any swipe on the left side of the screen will move in that direction also shows the D-pad from the origin of where you started swiping allowing you to alter trajectory by adjusting your fingers angle from the D-pad center. Two finger swipe on the left side of the screen to sprint. Any swipe on the right side of the screen to attack, tap and hold to charge attack. Tap on the right side to interact with objects and NPCs, also attacks. Keep the original controls for the people it works for but add this control method in as an alternative. Also a few other changes that would be effective. Add more quick commands on the right side of the screen still only showing four quick commands at any time, swipe the column of quick commands to scroll through additional ones. Tap a character to show their menu wheel instead of just the character being played. Allow for action patterns to be placed in the quick commands.

Get rid of borders

Just started playing the game. Brings back memories of 20 years ago! The borders on the sides of the screen need to go to maximise screen space for the game. Otherwise so far so good. Worth the $8

Legendary game

This game is legendary, if you think otherwise I will fly my white dragon to your house and moogle you.
